Since 2014, MAX VO2 has taken charge of our Sporting Life 10K Toronto when we needed help the most. In 2013 the previous leadership created a very challenging run for our consumers given the size of the run we had. It fact it could have killed our run all together. Sporting Life made a promise to its constituents that we would solve it and make it better.
In that year, we were forced to separate ourselves from that previous organization and started to look for new leadership to not only deliver on the promises of change, as it could of been disastrous for the run's future.
After a large formal search, I decided to hired Cory Freedman MAX VO2 to do the job. Best decision ever.
In less than 3 months, we had a new plan, engagement with the city and its officials and she plotted an entirely new focus on the customer experience while keeping our brand and the charitable component intact.
It was a big leap of faith because at this time, there were very few runs in the country as large as ours running down the middle of Toronto.
Fact is we are now the number one single running event that raises the most $$$ for Charity and the second largest single running event in the country.
Not only did Cory and her team bring us back in redemption, she has help us increase our run to 25,000 runners and helped us raise over 2 million dollars each year.
Fact is this - she and her group have been given full autonomy to whatever she needs where we could say, The Sporting Life 10K is her responsibility and we simply give her what she needs in order for her to do the best job.
Imagine in 2 years, I became hands off to the operation all together. That’s the trust we have instilled in her and her organization. So much to say, we also gave her The Sporting Life 10K Ottawa as well.
We have an incredible retention rate for the run which reflects the quality and run experience our customers expect. She has created an infrastructure that has solved logistical issues and made it 100% better. Her team of staff and volunteers are skilled and ready and prepared for any situation or challenge and I might add all under a budget for such a large running event , where all the net proceeds go to the charity.
That not an easy task! The more she keeps the costs down, the more dollars that go to the recipient of our run Camp Oochigeas - a camp of Children affected by Cancer.
I would highly recommend Cory and her team to organize your event. I can guarantee you would not be disappointed.

We are so fortunate to have someone of Cory’s calibre organizing the Rebecca Run for SMA. She keeps it current, exciting and ensures that we get a full crowd returning year after year.
Thanks to Cory, it is the biggest fundraiser of our national charity, Families of SMA Canada. We would highly recommend Cory and her team to manage any event if you want to have a top quality, professional and seamless event.

Given that we were tremendously behind schedule this year when we finally got started we really needed someone who could hit the road running in terms of putting everything in place immediately. Fortunately Cory/ MAX VO2 did it and I did not have a single worry or problem throughout the entire process. Given our special client population we really appreciated Cory’s sensitivity and professionalism. Her creativity, marketing savvy and focus on the importance of the bottom line were also evident in the fact that we exceeded the amount of funds raised to support our clients in need.
Cory’s endless…and I mean endless… energy, positive outlook and contagious smile was equally important in terms of making sure this was an event that was enjoyable not only for the participants, but for all of the staff and community volunteers who took part. Put simply, her services exceeded our expectations and as suggested by this testimonial, I would recommend her highly…as long as it is not on the weekend of our race :)
